Tom Brady Shares Cryptic Post About ‘False’ Narratives Amid Candice Swanepoel, Joan Smalls Rift Rumors

Tom Brady is not letting talk of his personal life get him down.
The retired NFL star, 49, shared a cryptic message via his Instagram Story on Thursday, November 5 after finding himself at the center of drama between Victoria’s Secret models Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls.
“You are not responsible for correcting every false version of you that exists in someone else’s head,” the message read. Brady added three heart emojis to the post.
Us exclusively revealed on October 24 that Brady and Swanepoel had been dating “for a while.” Although both Brady and Swanepoel, 38, have so far kept tight-lipped about their romance, the pair have been seeing each other since the spring, according to an insider.

Days after Brady and Swanepoel’s relationship made headlines, a source told Us that Swanepoel’s longtime friend Smalls, 38, and Brady “were seeing each other on and off for about a year between 2023 and 2024” in a casual fling.
“They were hooking up for a while and still kept in touch afterward,” the source shared.
News of Brady and Swanepoel getting closer apparently ruffled Smalls’ feathers, with the model feeling “blindsided.”
“To her, it was just the ultimate breaking of girl code,” a source exclusively told Us on October 28, referring to Smalls. “It wasn’t even necessarily about Tom, but more about the fact that Candice was someone she considered such a close friend. Joan had openly talked to Candice about Tom and had confided in Candice about the relationship.”

Speculation of a rift intensified when Swanepoel and Smalls both walked the runway at a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15 but were not photographed together at the event.
Reports also emerged of Smalls seemingly alluding to the feud in a since-deleted comment on Just Jared’s Instagram post reporting the news.
“Two words: SUMMER HOUSE ! That’ll explain everything,” she wrote. (Fans believe the comment is a reference to the viral Bravo love triangle between Amanda Batula, West Wilson and Ciara Miller.)

Smalls allegedly made other since-deleted comments in response to fans asking about the drama.
One comment reportedly read, “I’m not friends with backstabbers.” In another, she allegedly wrote, “There is no girl code with some people.”
Swanepoel’s rep later addressed the rumors of a falling out between the Victoria’s Secret models in a rare statement.
“Candice has always been exceptionally private about her personal life, with her focus remaining on raising her children,” the spokesperson told Us on October 28. “She and Joan share a longstanding history and a friendship that Candice will always respect.”
